About
Welcome to my blog!
If you don’t know who I am because you have never heard my name, that’s OK. Although I have been online for almost a decade I didn’t use my “official” name. I went under different nick names and that was fine for most of the fields where I built a presence.
The need to reveal my true identity came with my move into the internet marketing. I firmly believe in honesty, transparency and openness in dealing with customers and partners. If I am selling my own products or recommend other people’s goods and services I cannot hide behind obscure nick names. (Not that my nick names were obscure…) The buyers and clients deserve to know who stands behind the products and services I offer.
For quite a long time I was hesitant about entering the internet marketing scene because — for my taste — there was too much “pushing” and questionable techniques. Lately, I was glad to discover a new trend among some top internet marketers and, especially, among the “small guys”, which calls for a more ethical approach and honest dealing with customers. I am all for it! Yes, we all want to make money online but I don’t think in order to do that we have to abandon all our moral values. I might be a bit old-fashioned here but ethics and morality are what separates humans from the rest of the animal kingdom… Down the road you will, probably, read more thoughts about these issues in this blog, so I will stop here.
Back to the question of who I am.
My name is Istvan Horvath (a very common name in my language) and I am a Hungarian-speaking Transylvanian living in Canada. I am a Baby Boomer (which means born between 1946 and 1964) and proud of it. At least, most of the time. I have to mention my belonging to the boomer generation because my career as online marketer started out of my concern for the future of this generation. It started with a small report titled the Baby Boomer Pension Crunch and evolved into building the DigitalPensionCom: a chain of web sites and products to help Baby Boomers in securing their decent retirement.
