Your WordPress and the .htaccess file

Sometimes I get questions that are not directly related to WordPress but web sites in general. However, since WordPress creates web sites (even if a specific kind of) — the possible answers will apply to your WP sites, too. Such is the case of the .htaccess file. Any website can have it, and it can have a special role on WordPress sites, as well.

I don’t pretend to be a .htaccess expert, although I know exactly what it does and how it works; I can even do simple modifications on such a file and for more complicated tasks I’d ask for help from one of my programmer (server expert) friends. Or, simply outsource it.

WordPress 3.0 Video Tutorials

Since the release of my WordPress 3.0 Video Tutorials I am watching closely the competition, as everyone else would do. Any decent publisher should focus in their WordPress 3.0 Videos on specific features that were introduced in this latest major version of WordPress 3.0.

However, I have found videos that show you how to log in to your WP3 installation. Gimme a break! There is nothing special about it. It is the same login as it was for years. Isn’t it deceptive? — I think it is.
