WordPress 3.0 Video Tutorials

Since the release of my WordPress 3.0 Video Tutorials I am watching closely the competition, as everyone else would do. Any decent publisher should focus in their WordPress 3.0 Videos on specific features that were introduced in this latest major version of WordPress 3.0.

However, I have found videos that show you how to log in to your WP3 installation. Gimme a break! There is nothing special about it. It is the same login as it was for years. Isn’t it deceptive? — I think it is.

There are so many new and exciting features in this WordPress 3.0 that you don’t need to make up topics for your videos… My biggest issue while creating my WordPress video tutorials was to not miss any of the important new options of this version.

If you had the chance to watch my WordPress 3.0 Videos you know that I focus in them on major new features like:

  • multi-site creation on subdomains and in subdirectories
  • custom menus
  • domain mapping
  • activating themes for your network of sites
  • activating and setting plugins for your network of sites

Additionally, I have provided some insider tips based on my years of experience with WordPress… and I even provided a transcript in PDF format for all the videos and the code snippets from my demonstrations.

I just finished watching the videos, and following along in the PDF file transcript. Overall, this is an extremely valuable product, and one that I hope other authors will take as a model of clarity, conciseness, and comprehensiveness. I did observe one minor technical glitch: at time 28:07 of video 7, the content of video 1 is inserted. Video 7 does not appear to be missing anything, it just has the extraneous footage tacked on at the end.

Thank you for the heads up. I’ll check video #7. And thanks for the kind words, of course :)

EDIT. Video #7 corrected. Uploaded the real version without any additions…

I can best describe the videos as disappointing. Excrutiatingly dull, and at times difficult to understand because of the heavy accent. Sound quality at times was poor. And they failed to address the two key subjects I have most need of learning: implementing/using search engine optimization and site analytics.

I am sorry to hear you were disappointed… As for your “two key subjects” – if you take a second look at the sales page, it never ever mentions anything about SEO and/or analytics. Simply, because these tutorials are not dealing with those subjects; SEO is beyond the scope of a technical guide about WP multisite.

Nevertheless, since yours is the first negative feedback about the product and I don’t like to have unhappy customers… please, contact me directly and I will try to address your concerns.
